Simply put, Express Entry (EE) is an online immigration application system. As the name suggests, it’s an ‘express way’(in comparison to the earlier system) to get a Canadian Permanent Residency.

It is a convenient and easy-to-understand online system used for managing applications for permanent residence from skilled workers from all over the world.

Now, there are namely, three immigration programs under the Express Entry program:

1. Federal Skilled Worker(FSW): Qualified foreign skilled workers who meet certain specific requirements of the program are eligible for this program.

2. Canadian Experience Class(CEC): Skilled workers who have at least 1 year of Canadian work experience in the last 3 years before you apply are eligible to apply under this program

3. Federal Skilled Trades(FST): Skilled workers who are qualified in a skilled trade(for example, industrial, agriculture, processing, manufacturing, chefs, butchers and others) 

Now, how does Express Entry(EE) work?

The Express Entry system works by creating a pool of candidates who may be eligible to immigrate to Canada permanently.

The applying candidate must be eligible for one of the immigration programs in Express Entry to get entry into the pool. Candidate profiles are evaluated on a set criteria and are then rated based on their respective scores(called CRS Scores).

Candidates with the highest rankings are invited to apply (ITA) for Canadian Permanent Residency.

How long does it take?

On average, a PR application is processed within 6 months.
